New Addition - Buffet

I think I have at least five posts with this same title...must mean that it's really good.

This week, Shane and I will be adding this puppy to our current furniture collection:
We got so much serving ware and kitchen supplies for wedding gifts - and now we don't have anywhere to put them! This buffet will live in our dining room and hold all of our platters, serving dishes, bowls, etc. Well, hopefully...and we can even throw wine bottles in those two open racks. Amazing.

Low-Key Weekend/Almost the Weekend Again

It’s Thursday and I’m posting about last weekend…figures.

Shane and I did NOTHING last weekend and it was glorious…well, I say we did nothing but we did do some things, like:

  • Me and Monica went to Hot Yoga on Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. It was awesome! The room is 105˚ and the classes last between an hour and fifteen minutes and an hour and a half. It was very refreshing to just sweat out the grossness…and enough about that.
  • Caught up on the DVR. I have loved the first couple of episodes of Law & Order: SVU and am a new fan of Law & Order: LA.
    • Other semi-faves include Lonestar, The Event, Mike and Molly, Hawaii 5-O, Detroit 1-8-7 and The Whole Truth.
    • Returning faves are Criminal Minds, The Good Wife, The Mentalist, Modern Family, Life Unexpected and Glee.
  • Watched Georgia get beat by Colorado State. What the eff, Georgia?? Seriously, please win some games so that Shane doesn’t fall into a serious depression.
  • Installed a new lock on our front door. We are finally rid of the brass!
  • Bought a new ceiling fan for the living room.
  • Cleaned my grimey house and finally mopped! I haven’t mopped since before the wedding. Don’t judge me.

This week has flown by and we are getting ready to head to Athens this weekend for another ass-whooping…I mean the Georgia v. Tennessee game. J Not everyone has tickets so we are renting a generator so that we can have a TV, hot dips, etc. (I can’t think of anything else that requires a plug).

I also need to get on it and decorate for Halloween! It never fails that I am either decorating on September 20, and totally on my game, or on October 20, and totally off my game.

Stay tuned for pics!

October = Fall = Halloween = Favorite Time of Year

It is October – my favorite month of the year! Why?

  • It is the month of my birth (October 22 - for those who were wondering. :))
  • It is the month of my mom’s birth
  • It is not hot outside anymore
  • Halloween
  • Halloween decorations
  • College football is in full swing

But taking a look back at September…these are my favorite things about September:

Britney/Brittany Glee Episode (although I was severely disappointed that Britney did not perform). Brittany, the girl on the show, is so hilarious and her one-liners are awesome! "Did you know that dolphins are gay sharks?" "When I pulled my hamstring I went to a misogynist." "I think my cat is reading my diary."

Babies – Reese Lynn Nunley, Shelby Ryan Andres and Jane Elizabeth McLaughlin

Reading…finished the following books this month:
  • Fractured – Karin Slaughter – Rating 4 out of 5. I love this author and I love this series. Can’t wait to read the next one – Undone.
  • The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – Rating 4.5 out of 5. This book started out EXTREMELY slow and I almost gave up. But once you get past the first 200 pages you will be hooked.

Have a happy first-weekend-in-October weekend!
