6 Months Old!

Baby Lola is 6 months old! Time is flying...

Everything goes in her mouth...that includes the collar of her jacket.
She loves her feet!

And her half birthday prezzies from her dad - new jammies and rompers, a book and a toy. Spoiled much? ;)

Goodwill Find: Before and After

I snagged these beauties a few weeks ago for $1.21 at the local Goodwill. BTW - why are they priced so randomly? Couldn't be $1.25 or $1.20? Anyway, I did a little spray painting and we now have some cute new bookends for Lola's bookshelf!

Before (mauve and gold - yum):

And while I was at it, I needed to repaint a star that was on her collage wall. I originally painted it a turquoise before we knew she was a she...and now I think her room needs a bit more pink - so voila:

Her new collage wall - I love love love it!

Face Lift

The renovations have begun! My dad had scheduled to have the house painted before we decided to 'trade' - and they were able to get it done last week!

St. Patty's Day and Jim Turns 55

This year's St. Patty's Day was way different than last year (I was able to have a drink) and even more different than the year before (we partied like it was 1999) - but we had a good time and also got to celebrate my dad's birthday!
 Low Country Boil - delish
G-Daddy (who is now the ripe age of 55) and Lola
 With Uncle Patrick
Me, Pat and Topher with Lola in her Jumperoo. She LOVES to jump!
 Looking at their reflection
Close up of her gorgeous little face
Me and my girl. (This is one of maybe 3 pictures of her and I together - I have to get better at getting pictures of us together!)

Rockin' the Jumperoo

Also, funny enough, it was this same day last year that we told my dad that we were going to have a baby! Check out this video...and I had just gotten my iPhone at the time so forgive the awkwardness of me filming my own face in the beginning.

Okay, Seriously.

I've got to get better at blogging. It's crazy that I thought that when becoming a stay at home mom I'd have so much time for blogging, decorating, working out, etc., etc., etc. - then I came to the realization that I also have a child to care for. And one who is now almost 6 MONTHS OLD (holy growing baby!) and does more than just sleep all day. Sooo....I don't get any of that stuff done unless Shane is around. But, such is life and I know that I am so lucky to be able to stay home and raise my sweet Lola.

Anywho, moving on. A good bit has happened since January (sadly, the last time I blogged) - here's a recap:

Lola turned 4 Months Old:

Lola turned 5 Months Old:

She made Valentine's cards for her grandparents and Daddy and wore a ridiculously cute warm up suit:
We finally got around to painting Lola's room, but I don't have final 'After' pics yet, nor do I have 'Before' pics. Just imagine this room...a different color:

As far as other house projects go, my dad actually had the house painted today, we hope to have a fence up in the coming weeks and we're looking at doing some work in the kitchen. And more painting - the story of our lives. I promise to take pics of the house and post tomorrow!

2012's Top 10 Moments

Why wouldn't I wrap up 2012 on the seventh day of the new year? Being on time has never been my strong suit.

2012 was a great year for me and Shane. We have so many blessings to be thankful for, so, here is a quick countdown:

#10: Celebrating our 2-year wedding anniversary - I was very pregnant so we didn't do anything crazy but this was a great milestone in our relationship. I love, love, love my husband and cannot imagine my life without him.

#9: Celebrating Lola's first Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas -

#8: ETA's First Live Performance - My very talented husband and my youngest brother, along with two other friends, started a band. They had been talking about said band for years. Years. Well, in September, these guys got it together and practiced and performed at a friend's party. I just watched these videos again and got teary eyed. I'm so proud of all these guys - and they are actually really good!

#7: Babymoon to Florida - This trip was a week of relaxation. Just me, Shane and the dogs at the beach. It was great and we had a great time...but it did really make us think about some of our previous beach trips which were a lot less relaxing (ifyouknowwhatimean). I think it started to sink in that our life was changing dramatically!

#6: Moved to a new house! - We 'traded' houses with my dad! He now lives in our old house and we are here in his mansion. No lie, the master bedroom is the size of our previous home. It is so nice to have room to stretch out and room to grow. We are forever grateful to my dad for doing this for us. Still no pics...but I promise to share soon!

#5: Baby Shower for Lola - Thanks to my mom who put together an awesome baby shower, and many thanks to friends and family who were so generous!

#4: Sharing my pregnancy with friends and family - It was important for Shane and I to wait until I was 12 weeks along to share the news of my pregnancy with anyone. This was a little difficult for us since we were known to party pretty hard on the weekends (and sometimes weekdays)...so the abrupt stop to this behavior was a little fishy. But we were thrilled to be able to share our news in March!

#3: Becoming a stay-at-home mom - This is a very fresh decision for our family. I'd always joked with Shane that I didn't want to work, however, when we brought Lola home - this was no joke anymore. The thought of taking her to daycare and leaving her with someone who wasn't me...it devastated me. Now, I know that many women do it and their children do really well - but this just wasn't the path for us. So, effective January 2, I am a full-time stay at home mom. I am so grateful to Shane for working hard each day to provide for our family and giving me the unbelievable gift of staying home to raise our daughter (and other children in the future!).

#2: Finding out I was pregnant - You can read about that story here!

#1: Delivering the most perfect baby in this world who I love more than life itself - Lola Ann Wilson - She is our world and we cannot imagine our life without her!

Looking forward to what 2013 will bring - Happy New Year!

2 Months Old...3 Months Old...I Must Get Better at Blogging!

Time is flying by these days...I can't believe it's already Christmas, Lola is three months old and - believe it or not - we've actually moved in this middle of all this!

Here is another update in photos, minus the house...haven't had a chance to snap pics of everything yet.
 2 Months Old!
Christmas dress...complete with bib because I was petrified that she would spit up on the dress before we saw Santa.
Admiring the Christmas tree with Dad.
Visiting Santa with Aunt Katie. She was out!
Three Months Old! Kicking up a storm and showing off her belly.
Four Generations...Grandad, Steve (Shane's Dad), Shane and Lola

More to come about the house! Merry Christmas to all!

And Baby Makes THREE!

It's been quite a while and, let's just say, a lot has gone down these past two months! Most importantly, we welcomed Lola Ann (it was a girl - so shocked!) into this world on September 21 at 5:32 p.m. She was/is the most perfect baby in the world and we feel so blessed to have her in our lives. She is most definitely the best thing we have ever done, separate or together.

Okay, enough words - here are some pics of the best baby in the world!
6 pounds 7 ounces - a wee one!
Yes, look at all that hair! I know it is only a wives tale, but I had the most miserable heartburn during my pregnancy and I think this hair is why!
I'm pretty sure this picture was taken at like 4 a.m. So glad we are somewhat on a schedule now.
Lola and Daddy
After I came out of the post-partum cloud, I finally got my camera out and we had a little photo shoot!
I want to eat these little feet!
How time flies! Lola turned one month old on October 21! And, yes, that is spit up on her shirt. It happens.
 First family photo
Keepin' it real. She does have her moments. And apparently I find them funny.
Happy 1st Halloween! I was a little out of it this year and didn't decorate or make a big deal out of Halloween. But this is my favorite holiday and I promise that next year will be epic. Epic.

Okay, before I exceed the photo limit on Blogger...I'll stop! These past two months have gone by fast, yet slow - it's a very weird feeling. But we love her more than anything and I can't wait for what's to come!
